You will find some of the most beautiful British countryside here in the SCOTTISH BORDERS and NORTH NORTHUMBERLAND.  Whilst the Northumbrian Coastline features long, white sandy beaches to the south of the Border, once you cross the River Tweed at Berwick upon Tweed and head north over the Border into Berwickshire, the coastline changes dramatically, revealling steep, craggy coves and pretty little Fishing Villages.  With a turbulent past, the Borders Towns and Villlages have survived many a battle, with the historic town of Berwick upon Tweed having changed hands a staggering thirteen times between England and Scotland, now remaining firmly in England since 1482.
